Ear correction

The correction of unusual large or asymmetrical ears is the most performed ear correction surgery (otoplasty). This operation is usually performed on children up to the age of 14. In this case, the costs of this procedure are often still covered by health insurance.

Ear correction (also called otoplasty) is usually performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia or in twilight sleep. Rarely, however, the surgery is performed under general anesthesia. Various surgical techniques can be applied, which have different advantages and disadvantages. In a personal consultation, the performing specialist will discuss which technique is most beneficial and will be used for each individual situation.

Patients should be aware that in the event of complications and/or follow-up treatments in the case of an ear correction (otoplasty) performed for aesthetic reasons, the health insurance companies will no longer cover the full costs of the medically necessary treatments. By taking out our safe4beauty cosmetic surgery insurance, the threat of an extreme financial burden can be mitigated.
